I find it interesting to read about other photographers. It’s always fun to read about others that share our passion. I put together a few questions that I thought I would ask you (our readers). I’d like to know a little about YOU and your photography journey. I guess it’s only fair that if I’m going to ask you these questions I should start by answering them myself, which I will do in the comment section. Feel free to answer all or the questions or just the ones you want to answer. Thanks for stopping in at Cool Photo Sites and look forward to hearing from you.
1. What type of photography do you prefer to shoot?
2. Do you shoot for a hobby or for a living?
3. What specifically are you working on to improve? Name one.
4. Canon, Nikon or other?
5. I’m stealing this important question from a friend…..Coke or Pepsi?
6. Is there something you’d like to see on Cool Photo Sites?
7. What editing software do you use and what has been your best learning tool for it?
8. Who is your inspiration(s)?
9. Do you use lights or natural light?
10. What inspires you to shoot?

Beautiful images found from the blogs on Cool Photo Blogs. Photo taken by chromasia.com/iblog/
Today’s site is called Cool Photo Blogs. I found this site a long time ago and I have to say it is an amazing site that showcases blogs from around the world.
I like to go there weekly and find new photo blogs. These sites showcase photographers work. They aren’t necessarily instructional or helpful in anyway. They are however gallery sites. They are true photo blogs. It is inspiring to see so much good photography from around the globe. Of course, there are great amounts of poor photography as well. But that is expected on a site like this.
The premise of this site is to showcase photo blogs, but it is also a site that allows viewers to vote on the sites that they like and then in turn the site awards the winners. It is really a great place to find photographers that in my opinion I would never find otherwise.
If you have a photo blog, I would suggest checking it out and even submitting it to this site.

About eight years ago, I was shooting portraits in Louisburg, KS and had a conversation with an older woman who told me that she had twin granddaughters who lived in Chicago, but flew into Kansas City to have their senior portraits done by a studio called Antisdels. She also told me how much they spent on senior portraits and as I recall, she said it was somewhere in the ballpark of a couple thousand dollars. I was in disbelief. I couldn’t believe someone would come that far for senior portraits and secondly that someone would pay that much for them. That was until I saw their work and have now come to realize who they are.
Antisdel’s Photography, located in Louisburg, KS, a suburb of Kansas City, is a portrait studio that specializes in children and senior portraits. They are also founders of Senior Portrait Artists, or SPA as they are more commonly known, an organization dedicated to art and business of senior portraits.
Antisdel’s photography to me is really what senior portraits and children / family portraits are supposed to be all about. They are bright, colorful, youthful, vibrant, fresh, new, contemporary, stylish, cutting edge, emotive and the list could certainly go on and on and on. If you haven’t heard of Antisdel’s, I highly suggest checking their work out and also checking out SPA. It will be well worth your time!

Recently I stumbled across a blog entry about extreme close ups of bug eyes. Just like most photographers, I’ve seen macros of bugs before. However, this collection stood out to me for the quantity and quality of this grouping. The bugs are amazing and the detail and clarity of them are amazing.
What is so amazing about these photographs is not only that the color and details of these tiny insects are so intriguing. It is also the fact that every other aspect of these images are top notch. For example, composition, framing and overall presentation. I would think photographing such small creatures would make it even more difficult to get the entire image perfect.
These images were not all taken by the same photographer. They are a collection, however you can find the individual photographers responsible for each image below each photograph. Well worth checking out!

Face for Today by dalone
For our first site to suggest, I want to suggest one of the best photo sites I know of for inspiration. The photographs you’ll find on here will blow you away. Unless you have no interest in photography, you will be inspired.
The site is 1x.com and the images there are unbelieveable. The site is comprised of the best images of the members who are there. Submit your best images and if it’s good enough, it will be added to the ever growing gallery there. It’s a very clean and beautiful site. You might just blow a few hours looking around there.
